Where the Wild Things Go

On Tuesday, November 24, 2009 I went to see the movie Where the Wild Things Go. This is the movie that's based upon the children's book. It was also offered in 3D, but I only caught it in 2D.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin with this film?

First of all, it's not worth it. I don't think that the 3D would have helped the film in any way. I have not read the book, but after seeing the movie, I do not want to read the book. I don't understand what the hype was about. This movie was confusing. I could not believe that at the end of the movie someone said, "This movie was good."

I think that this movie was worse than Premonition (where it was confusing, but it made sense) or Dead Funny (which was a movie that I thought was the worst movie I have ever seen). I think this one takes the cake. The person who wrote the book or the movie must have been high on something because it made no sense at all whatsoever.

You have some kid with issue who dresses up like Mario with the Raccoon suit from Super Mario Bros. 3 and he's got no patience whatsoever and expects his mother to come running to his every need. When he feels ignored, he puts on the suit, gets on table and refuses to come down from the table - which in turn ruins his mother's date. (The parents are divorced) Then when the mother tries to send him to his room without dinner as a consequence for disobeying her, he bites her and runs off.

He then goes to this world with these really big beings, hangs around for a while, goes home to a mother who forgave him for everything and feeds him soup, chocolate cake and milk!

What type of screwed up movie is this?!!

I don't think this one is as bad as The Star Wars Holiday special, but it's probably pretty close.

A Christmas Carol: 3D

On Tuesday, November 17, 2009, I went to see the movie: A Christmas Carol (3D). This is the new animated feature with Jim Carrey and a whole bunch of voiceover talent - like Colin Firth or Bob Hoskins.

A more modern remake of the classic and quite realistic. I did watch it in 3D. I thought Colin Firth was the nephew was a good pick and that really made the movie for me, even though he had such a small part.

The animation was quite good, relatively realistic. I was also quite surprised that Jim Carrey did quite a few voices on this movie - like he was the Ghost of Christmas Present.

A good movie, great if you love A Christmas Carol, but not really for small children.

Amelia

On Tuesday, November 10, 2009 I went to see the movie Amelia. This is the movie about the life of Amelia Earhart. This movie features Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor...

This movie was very well done and Hilary Swank does a great job. I also enjoyed Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor's character.

I don't know the history behind her, but it was a nice movie.

Also don't know how to elaborate on this movie.
