Valentine's Day (The movie)

On Tuesday, February 23, 2010, I went to see the movie Valentine's Day. This movie starred a whole bunch of actors and actresses: Jennifer Gardner, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Emma Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, etc..

The story is about Valentine's Day and the love and break-ups of a variety of couples. They also happen to intertwine each other. It talks about love of different types... Between different people. At the same time, it was also funny.

A fun movie to go to, especially on a date or if you're a couple looking for a fun night out.

Dear John

On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, I went to see the movie Dear John featuring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. This movie was based upon the Nicholas Sparks novel.

This movie is about a summer romance... Amanda Seyfried's character, Savannah falling for a soldier - Channing Tatum's character. Then the trials and tribulations of a long distance relationship.

I liked the movie, but I think it could have been done better. I was expecting to cry in it... I didn't.

I also found the ending too abrupt and too in the middle. Perhaps that's how the book ends, I am not sure, but I found it a bit sudden. I am interested in reading the book, however.

When In Rome

On Tuesday, February 9, 2010, I went to see the movie When In Rome, featuring Kirsten Bell and Josh Duhamel.

The premise of the movie is that Kirsten Bell's character, Beth, discovers that her former boyfriend has found someone and is getting engaged... She has always been unlucky in love, but always concentrated on her job.

She discovers that her younger sister has met this Italian guy, Umberto, and that they were getting married. She goes to Rome to attend her wedding, but has a serious series of events... But also meets Umberto's best man, Nick (played by Duhamel).

Beth thought that she was really hitting it off well with Nick, so she wanted to toast him. However, she sees him kissing another lady and gets upset so she ends up drinking a lot of alcohol outside in the Fontana d'amore. She also starts blurting out about how love doesn't exist, etc., and takes five coins from the fountain.

What follows it the hilarious tale of men pursuing Beth. When one takes a coin from the fountain, the owner of the coin is supposedly going to fall in love with the person who takes the coin.

Nick is also on the pursuit of Beth, but we also learn that Nick is a poker player, and that the types of chips that he uses matches the one she pulled from the fountain. So, was Nick for real?

You'll have to watch the movie to find out. It was a nice and fun movie.

Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, I went to see the movie The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. This movie is about the leader of a traveling circus who has made a deal with the Devil.

The whole journey pretty much goes on this... There's a daughter who's the property of the Devil when the daughter hits 16 years old.

A fun movie, confusing at times, but great design!
