Lucidité Passagère

On Tuesday, March 30, 2010 I went to see the movie Lucidité Passagère. This was a Quebecois movie that took place in Montreal and New York.

The story is about three pairs of lovers who have stories that intertwine. They date aech other's partners after they break up, or whatever. Their stories cross and intertwine. The movie was kind of confusing because there were three or four storylines were it was challenging .

The guys in this movie were kind of good looking. But most Quebecoiactrs/boys I find attractive so I can't say whether the eye candy was good or not.

Alice in Wonderland

On Tuesday, March 23, 2010 I went to see the movie Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton.

This is a movie based on the two books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

This film was beautifully done. It was the first film that I have seen where they have mixed live action and animation. The only thing about this film is that the movie is not a direct translation. It is an adaptation. However, this film was very well done.

The story is about Alice who falls down a robot hole and falls into Underworld. Then she has an adventure and meets some characters. These are characters that one would find: The Mad Hatter, The Chesire Cat, the Red and White Queens.

This movie was very well done. I really enjoyed it and it was nicely paced. I highly recommend seeing this in 3D. You don't need to see it in IMAX 3D, just regular 3D is fine.

Sherlock Holmes

On Tuesday, March 16, 2010, I went to see the movie Sherlock Holmes, featuring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong.

This was a movie about Sherlock Holmes and Watson solving a mystery involving a black magic cult. The mystery is that he catches Lord Blackwood and then was actually present for his hanging.

However, something isn't quite right and Lord Blackwood rises from the dead and walks again.

This is what intrigues Holmes and that's why he takes the case. Although, at the same time, he also discovers the victim of a case that he was approached to take.

It's a nice light action adventure movie that has a lot of laughs and action. A great fun movie to go to.

Up in The Air

On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, I went to see the movie Up in The Air. The comedy featuring George Clooney.

The story is about his character, Ryan Bingham. He's a professional "lay-off informer". He works for a company that hires him to lay people off... Ryan is also a motivational speaker.

There's not a big story in this movie, at least I found. The major story is that he meets this woman who's interested in the same stuff he is, and who travels a lot for her job as well. They hit it off. He also meets a new person in the company who wants to revolutionize the way that people get laid off, through teleconferencing.

The movie is quite funny, as it mixes a lot of aspects and keeps the story flowing. It's also a story about the development of Ryan Bingham.

The DVD came out today, so you don't need to see it in the theatre. You can see it just on DVD.

My former Co-op Teacher

I was cleaning my room today and I was taking a few trips down memory lane when I came across stuff that I was putting away or throwing way.

One of these things were all my journals that I wrote when I was taking Co-op in high school. This was about ten years ago. My co-op teacher was Ms. Stewart, Helen Stewart. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us today, because she lost her battle to cancer about five years ago.

While I was cleaning, I sat down and reread my journals that I wrote when I was doing my co-op placement in a K-8 school. She was already making comments to me about the world of education, and after she has 20 years of experience. However, these comments only make so much more sense now since I started teaching!

Thank you Ms. Stewart for being my Co-op teacher. The comments you made on the journals (and I read them!) were quite insightful. Especially now since I have stepped into the world of teaching myself!
