Skyfall

On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, I went to see the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall.  This movie features Daniel Craig as Bond, Javier Bardem as Silva, Judi Dench as M, etc.  This movie is a spy action flick.

The movie starts off with Bond and another agent, who is in pursuit of someone who killed a whole bunch of MI-6 agents to get at a hard drive with information of all of the undercover agents and their identities.  They are trying to recover the stolen drive, but due to circumstances, they are unable to do so...  And in the process, Bond is shot.

Thinking that Bond is dead, M writes an obituary for Bond and sells all of his belongings.  We think that the information on the hard drive is not important, until the MI-6 headquarters in England get bombed...  It is when 007 sees this on the news that he returns to report for duty.

He had to take a bunch of aptitude tests.  After, M states that he passed by the skin of his teeth so he will be able to continue his field work.  After he exits the office, we learn that Bond had actually failed his tests (important later).

With a lead to Shanghai to find the person who stole the hard drive, Bond tries to do his job and find out the information about who stole the hard drive.  His instructions were to terminate the killer after he gives this information, but that doesn't happen.

What happens next?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out!  I really enjoyed this movie, however, so it's a worthwhile view.  I saw it in IMAX and it was great.  I also thought that the story line was well laid out and that 2.5 hours is really not that long for this movie.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

On Tuesday, Noveber 19, 2012, I went to see the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower, featuring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman.

The story is about Charlie, who is a bit of an outcast.  He doesn't really have any friends and last school year, he really had it rough.  His only friend shot himself.

So, he starts off the school year kind of being by himself...  He couldn't even sit with his sister and his boyfriend...  The first day of his Freshman year, he makes one friend...  His English teacher.

Eventually, things start evolving and he meets a bunch of other interesting people:  Patrick, a senior who is in a junior's woodworking class, Sam (Watson) - his stepsister, Alice the Gothic shoplifter and Mary Elizabeth, the punk Buddhist.

However, things kind of turn awry when a game of Truth or Dare goes wrong...  And then we discover things about Charlie that we didn't know.

How does the movie end?  You'll have to watch it to find out.  However, I really enjoyed this one and I didn't think I would enjoy it so much.

Wreck It Ralph

On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, I went to see the movie Wreck It Ralph.

This movie is about a character in a video game, Fix It Felix Jr., getting fed up with how he is being treated as the "bad guy" so he goes into another video game to try and get a medal - because that's what Felix ends up doing in the video game.

However, the journey Ralph takes to go and have his medal, it's definitely twisted and very amusing...  You'll have to see the movie to see how it ends...

There were many references to classic video games...  If you have any knowledge on video games, you will be able to pick out the characters from other video games.

A very creative flick and a good heart-felt funny story.  It was very good in 3D.

I don't know who the voice actors were, but John C. Reilly was the voice of Wreck it Ralph, Sarah Silverman does the voice of Venelope and there must have been other voices for other characters.

Argo

On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, I went to see the movie Argo featuring Ben Affleck, Alan Arkin, and John Goodman.

The movie is based on the hostage situation in Iran.  The year, 1979.  They took over the US Embassy, but six of the workers there managed to escape.  They were hiding in the Canadian Ambassador's house.

The movie is about the CIA sending in Tony Mendez, a special agent whose goal is to get them out...  They are using the guise of a Canadian film crew, who is shooting a film in Iran.

What happens?  You'll have to watch to find out.  However, I found this film to be a nail biter, even until the very end.  Definitely recommended.
