RED 2

On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, I went to see the movie RED 2, featuring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Byung-hun Lee and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The movie is about Frank Moses, who is a retired CIA agent, who was declared to be a homeland terrorists for project Nightshade.

Frank, and neither his friend Marvin (John Malkovich) know about this, but leaked documents on the internet involved them, so they are now considered wanted fugitives.

Frank and Marvin get the team back together to save the world from this device.  The problem is that Victoria (Mirren) was given a no-choice contract by the Mi-6 to kill Frank and the U.S. hired Han Cho Bai (Byung-hun Lee), world reknown assassin.

Will they succeed?  What happens?  Who works together and who is not?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out.  I thought that it was funny, but different and perhaps not as well done as the original.

Characters I relate to, Part 3

Another character I feel like I am would be Rizzo from Grease.

On the surface, she's a tough, leader who takes care of her fellow Pink Ladies.  However, just like everyone else, she needs romance, to be loved, has emotions etc. etc.  On top of it all, she is also quite sassy!

During the musical, she missed a period, so she is also known as the tramp who sleeps around, because she is pregnant.  Though, I have never dealt with a pregnancy...  And at the end of it, it was a false alarm, I have dealt with prejudices, justified or not, from people who they they are holier than thou art.  I have also dealt with people who don't think Chinese men, or Asian men in general, are attractive...  Or they are about the age of my grandfather.

And that is totally me during "Summer Nights" when Rizzo says, "'Cause he sounds like a drag!"

Despicable Me 2

On Tuesday, July 23, 2013 I went to see the movie Despicable Me 2.  This is the animated feature with Steve Carrell as Gru.  It also features Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario and Kristen Wiig as Lucy.

The premise of this story is that Gru has now focused his efforts onto becoming a business man.  He is starting his business of jams and jellies, with the assistance of his friend, Dr. Nefario.  However, things aren't going well and all of the jelly tastes disgusting.

Dr. Nefario decides that this business isn't for him, so he takes up his work of being evil to work for some other villain.

At this point, we discover that the AVL (Anti-villain League) is having difficulty solving the latest mystery about an Arctic Circle research station that disappeared.  So, they decide that they need an insider's help to try and solve this mystery.  And it certainly seems like Gru's on the wrong track, as his minions are being abducted en masse.

What happens in this movie?  You'll have to watch it to see the rest.  I found this movie highly enjoyable...  It was very funny and I thought it was on par with the first one, if not better!

Iron Man 3

On Tuesday, July 9, 2013, I went to see the movie Iron Man 3, featuring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Peltrow, Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley.

The movie is about Tony Stark (Iron Man), played by Downey, who takes on the terrorist known as The Mandarin.  The film really starts to take off when Stark's place of residence is attacked by The Mandarin.

A movie filled with lots of action and explosions.  Very fun.  I saw it in 3D and it was fun, but perhaps not necessary.  Lots of good looking men in the movie too...  I really thought Guy Pearce (post cripple) and his body guard were quite sexy.

Now You See Me

On Tuesday, July 2, 2013, I went to see the movie Now You See Me.  This movie features quite a few stars:  Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg and Mélanie Laurent.

This movie starts off with a group of magicians, called The Four Horsemen.  For the finale of the first show, they "rob a bank".  They teleport someone into the bank vault at a bank in Paris...  Then they suck out all of the Euros and make it rain money at the show.

It turns out that the bank vault at this particular bank was also robbed, so these four magicians get arrested, to assist with the investigation.  At this point, we discover agent Dylan Rhodes, the FBI agent who has been assigned to this case.

Eventually, they have to let the four horsemen go due to the lack of evidence.  However, they have two more shows where many more things are planned.  What happens?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out!
