Cinderella

On Tuesday, March 17, 2015, I went to see the movie Cinderella, featuring Cate Blanchett, Lily Adams, Helena Bonham Carter and Stellan Skarsgard.

This is an adaptation of the Cinderella fairy tale, but done with new twists.  Kind of in the same light as Maleficient, where it was a twist of Rapunzel.

This movie is probably not a contender for an Oscar, but I did enjoy it.  There were moments that made you tear up and sad.  I also liked the magic in it.

Although, this evening, I had the unfortunate situation of sitting beside three very inconsiderate and rude women.  When I finally got fed up and asked them to stop talking (politely) as I was here for the movie and not for their talking, they actually became increasingly rude.  I had to go and get the manager at the movie theatre!

Why do people come to the movie theatre if all they are doing is checking their phones and talking to their friends?  You can do that at a coffee shop for way cheaper (the price of a coffee) or at your house (for free, as you have to live there anyway).  Why bother people who want to actually see a movie?

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, I went to see the movie The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, featuring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Celia Imrie, Richard Gere and Dev Patel.

This movie takes place where the first one left off.  Sonny Kapoor, played by Dev Patel, wants to expand his hotel.  However, he's also very busy with his engagement to his fiancĂ©e Sunaina, played by Tina Desai.  You've got the usual guests and their secrets and shenanigans.  But new guests as well.

In this movie, we see the story development of the characters in the first movie...  The new jobs, the new places and adventures, as well as the new characters, two of whom are hotel critiques.

A feel good movie.  Light and fun.  Perfect for relaxation.
