The Water Diviner
On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, I went to see the movie The Water Diviner.
This movie is Russell Crowe's directorial debut, but he also plays Connor. Connor is the father of three sons in Australia. However, they went off to war. During the Battle of Gallipoli, he loses contact with them all. Thus, he goes to Turkey in attempts to find his sons.
Once he gets to Istanbul, Turkey, he is thrown into roadblocks of all sorts... Bureaucratic roadblocks, military roadblocks, language roadblocks... But despite all that, his drive is still there and he wants to find his sons... Especially since he promised that to his wife.
He gets help in some unlikely places, of course. What happens? You'll have to watch the movie to find out.
This was an extremely well done piece of work. I am very amazed with Russell Crowe's directorial debut. It was nicely done and not pretentious at all. (Unlike Xavier Dolan - vomit)
