Journey concert

On Tuesday, July 28, 2015, I went to see the concert given by Journey tonight at the Bell Centre.  I had won tickets from a radio station, so I went with a friend.

Though I don't know every single Journey song and all the lyrics, I did recognize quite a few songs and I had a great time!

Don't stop believin'!  What a Journey!  :-D

Ant-Man

On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, I went to see the movie Ant-Man, featuring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Bobby Canavale and Corey Stoll.

The story is about Scott Lang, who was a convicted burglar.  He ends up stealing a suit where it allows him to shrink to the size of an ant, but can have ultra strength.  Him, along with Dr. Hank Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne, must stop Darren Cross from a plan that would ultimately destroy the world.

Does he succeed?  You'd have to watch the movie to find out!

Minions

On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, I went to see the movie Minions.

This is the story about a history of Minions and I guess how they came to find Gru.

And of course, they stumble across into things.  LOL

Great voice acting by Sandra Bullock as Scarlet, Jon Hamm as her boyfriend and Jennifer Saunders as the Queen of England!

Magic Mike XXL

On Saturday, July 12, 2015, I went to see the movie Magic Mike XXL featuring Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Gabriel Iglesias, Matt Bomer and Adam Rodriguez.  The story takes place after this gang moves to Miami.  However, Dallas (their old emcee) took the Kid (the rising star) and disappeared for a solo act, so it left these people hanging.

And that's how we have another hot movie of stripping and dancing.  We connect with a few people from Channing's past and we learned that the relationship didn't last as he thought it would...

Good fun, very funny...  I felt that the pace of the movie was slower and the dancing was more sensual, rather than run of the mill strip club.

Jurassic World

On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, I went to see the movie Jurassic World featuring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Irrfan Khan.

The story is about Jurassic World, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, which is an amusement park featuring dinosaurs.  All goes well until a genetically modified dinosaur, named Indominus Rex, frees itself and hunts on the island...

M'eh.  Never liked the franchise and never really will.  Bad idea to put dinosaurs on the island.  Especially genetically modified ones.

Mad Max: Fury Road

On Monday, July 6, 2015, I went to see the movie Mad Max:  Fury Road.

This movie features Tom Hardy as Mad Max, Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa and Nicolas Hoult as Nux.

This is the third Mad Max movie, although I am not sure it follows the first two...  As I didn't see them and don't know about their storyline.

Lots of action, explosions...  Some gruesome scenes...  Amusing as a movie, but...  Just that.  Amusing.

But Tom Hardy.  Mmm mmm.  Yummy!

Aloha

On Friday, July 3, 2015, I went to see the movie Aloha featuring Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Emma Stone, Alec Baldwin, Bill Murray and John Krasinski.

The story is about Brian Gilcrest, played by Bradley Cooper, who is returning to Hawaii after a long time for a blessing.  He used to be part of NASA and the military, but now is just a civilian.  Accompanying him on this "mission" is Allison Ng, played by Emma Stone, who is an up and happening pilot with the military.

Brian Gilcrest also bumps into his ex-girlfriend, Tracy, who is now married to Woody (John Krasinski).  So we have unresolved feelings and romance between Brian and Tracy, who is married to Woody.  Tracy also has two children.  As well as budding romance and feelings between Brian and Allison.

What happens in the end?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out.  This movie won't win any Oscars, but it's a feel good romantic comedy.

Tomorrowland

On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, I went to see the movie Tomorrowland featuring George Clooney, Hugh Laurie and Britt Robertson.  This movie is another science fiction movie about a place where the best and the brightest get together and invent things for the good of the world.  Unfortunately, George Clooney's character was exiled from that place back to regular the regular world.

The story starts with Casey Newton, who is the eldest daughter of a NASA engineer.  We see that she is very versed in technology and tries to stop or slow down the dismantling of a NASA launch station.  Unfortunately, on her second night of doing this (she probably does it quite often), she gets caught and arrested.  During this time, she has been given a "pin" that invites her to go and visit Tomorrowland.

Casey starts freaking out when she comes out of juvenile detention and she sees the pin and what it shows her.  No one believes her and she goes hunting for the origins of the pin.  But, to the wrong location.  She gets rescued by Athena, who was the one that gave her the pin.  She takes her to see Frank Walker, played by George Clooney, whom she believes could take her to Tomorrowland to save the world.

What happens after?  You'll have to watch the movie to see.
