Spotlight

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, I went to see the movie Spotlight, featuring Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Michael Keaton and Liev Schrieber.

The movie is about the Spotlight team, who was working really hard to write an article about pedophilia in the church in the Boston area.  This movie is based upon a true story, so some stuff has been fictionalized, but there is some truth to it.

Carol

On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, I went to see the movie Carol, featuring Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett.

The movie is about Carol Aird, played by Cate Blanchett, and Therese Belivet, played by Rooney Mara.  These two people met under peculiar circumstances and became lovers for a short time.  However, Carol Aird is married to a man and has a daughter.  How does this play out?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out.

This movie is done in that full circle style, where the beginning of the movie isn't necessarily the beginning of the story.  And that's where I will leave it.
