A Date with Miss Fortune

On Tuesday, February 23, 2016, I went to see the movie A Date with Miss Fortune.  This is a Canadian movie featuring quite a few Canadian stars, Ryan Scott, Nelly Furtado and George Stroumboulopoulos.

This movie is about our protagonist, Jack, who wants a fresh starts and books a flight from NYC to London.  On his last night there, he meets and chats with this girl named Maria.  And he also pretends to write a sit-com, as he's a sit-com writer.

A fun movie, not too realistic, but light.  The movie is supposed to be based in NYC, but you can tell that it was Toronto.

The Monkey King 2

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, I went to see the movie The Monkey King 2, which is a movie from China based on the ancient folklore of the same name, The Monkey King.

I remember this tale as a child, but I don't remember every single detail.  And I also don't think the movie told the original tale...  There were a few twists and turns.

Well done, great special effects, but it felt long in some parts.

The Big Short

On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, I went to see the movie The Big Short featuring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling.

The movie is about a few people who knew, through mathematical models, that the housing bubble was going to burst in the USA and how they tried to make some money out of it.

It also shows the greed of corporate America, Wall Street and banks in general.  And how pratically no one got trialed for this criminal activity.

Ip Man 3

On Tuesday, February 2, 2016, I went to see the movie Ip Man 3, which is a wushu movie, about Ip Man - a wing chun Master, protecting a school where his son goes.  It also branches into other wing chun Masters and schools and what not.

The choreography for the fighting scenes were very very very good.  Mike Tyson was also in it too.  Highly entertaining.
