The Breadwinner

On Tuesday, December 19, 2017 I went to see the movie (cartoon) The Breadwinner.

The movie is about Parvana, a girl in an Afghan family, who spends her days at the market with her father.  He's selling things, because it's war and his family is poor.  Unfortunately, he is thrown into jail.

With things getting dire, Parvana cuts her hair to look like a boy.  She becomes the primary bread winner of the family by doing odd jobs here and there.  However, it doesn't stop there.

What happens?  You'll have to watch it to find out.  It was worth watching.

Loving Vincent

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, I went to see the movie Loving Vincent.  This is an animated movie, done in the style of Van Gogh paintings, about the story of Armand Roulin, who ended up investigating Van Gogh's last days in the task of him delivering a final letter to Vincent Van Gogh's brother.

A beautiful storytelling done in the style of Van Gogh's paintings.  It was just amazing.

Murder on the Orient Express

On Tuesday, December 5, 2017 I went to see the movie Murder on the Orient Express, based on an Agatha Christie novel, and featuring Kenneth Branagh, Tom Bateman, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench and Willem Dafoe.

This movie features Hercule Poirot, the great detective who is summoned to England for something.  But on his way there, he boards the Orient Express, where a murder happens and he figures it out.

A brilliant cast was present for this movie.  Wow!
