Avengers: Infinity War

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, I went to see the movie Avengers: Infinity War, featuring a whole slew of stars from a wide variety of different Marvel comics.

Thanos already has two infinity stones and he is setting his quest for the last ones.  Can the superheroes work together to stop him?  You'll have to watch to find out!

Book Club

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, I went to the movie Book Club featuring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Andy Garcia and Richard Dreyfuss.

The movie is about four friends, Diane, Vivian, Sharon and Carol (played by Keaton, Fonda, Bergen and Steenburgen) who have been friends for a long time.  They started a book club when they were young and have been doing this for a long time.  Each of them takes a turn to pick a book for the others to read.  This month, Vivian picks Fifty Shades of Grey.  Everyone seems reluctant to read the book, but they agree to do so because it's part of the book club.

And of course, each person in the book club has their issues romantically.  Diane is recently widowed.  Vivian was proposed to years ago, but she refused to get married.  She has instead had sexual flings with many men.  Sharon is divorced and sees her ex husband find her fiance online who's half her age and Carol is hoping to get her husband's attention, as they haven't been intimate in quite some time.

What happens in the movie?   You'll have to watch it to find out.  All I will say is that the book club does end up reading all three Fifty Shades books and they continue their lives and romance while it happens.

Red Sparrow

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, I went to see the movie Red Sparrow, featuring Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton.

This movie is about Dominika Egorova (played by Jennifer Lawrence), who was a talented ballet dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet Company.  However, when she was doing a performance, her dance partner falls on her leg and breaks it.

With her dance career over and bills to pay, Dominika reluctantly works for her uncle.  Her first task is to get information on a man deemed a threat.  As she is at work, the man tries to rape her.  A kind stranger, who is later revealed to be Simyonov, kills he man.

Without a choice, she goes to "school" to become a Sparrow (as her only other option is death).  Her assignment is to seduce and find information on an American, Nate Nash, who has information on the mole.

What happens next?  You'll have to watch the movie to find out.  Though, I found it hard to stomach, so maybe not.
