Official Secrets & Downton Abbey

On Saturday, September 21, 2019 I went to see the movie Official Secrets featuring Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode and Ralph Fiennes.

This movie is based upon Katherine Gun, played by Knightley, who leaks a document to the press in hopes to stop an illegal war in Iraq.  The acting was amazing and the suspense just kept me right on the edge of my seat.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2019 I went to see the Downton Abbey movie.  The movie is about the royal visit at Downtown.  I didn't watch the series, but it was really fun.

The Farewell

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 I went to see the movie The Farewell.  The main character is played by Awkwafina, who played Peik Lin Goh (Asian Ellen) in the movie Crazy Rich Asians.

This movie is about Billi (Awkawfina)'s family, who discovers that their grandmother has cancer and won't have much time left.  So, they decide to have a family gathering as a last time to see her alive.  However, they are not telling her that she has cancer.

What happens?  You'll have to watch it to find out.

After The Wedding

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, I went to see the movie After the Wedding, featuring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams and Billy Crudup.  It's been two weeks now that I have seen a movie with Billy Crudup in it.

This movie is about Isabel, played by Michelle Williams, who dedicates her time to volunteering at an orphanage in India.  The school/orphanage is looking for donations and they have a lead for a huge donation from a company in New York.  However, the condition is that the benefactor meeets Isabel in person.

Isabel has no choice but to fly to NYC.  (And of course, if she chose not to fly there, we would not have a movie) and she meets Theresa, the CEO of a marketing company which she built from scratch.  She talks to Isabel about the orphanage and thumbs through her proposal.  Theresa's daughter is getting married, so she invites Isabel to the wedding.

Isabel ends up at the wedding, but arrives late.  At the wedding, it becomes apparent that Isabel and Theresa's husband, Oscar (played by Billy Crudup) has a history, a dark secret of sorts.

What happens?  You'll have to watch to find out.  I have to say, a good amount of drama and suspense and great acting from Williams, Moore and Crudup.
