LIttle Women and The Photograph

For the past two weeks, I have seen two movies. Little Women and The Photograph.

The first one, Little Women, features Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scarlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep.

This movie is about a family with four girls, who find their way through life. Some through love and marriage, some through life and career.

This story in this movie is told out of sequence, and it is a slow moving story. However, the costumes are beautiful.

The second movie, The Photograph, features LaKeith Stanfield, Chelsea Peretti, Issa Rae and Chanté Adams.

This movie is about a reporter, who is doing a story about a famous photographer who has recently passed and meets the daughter of this photographer. They take an instant liking to each other. However, both of them are coming out of previous relationships and issues related to that. It's kind of like all other romantic comedies, but the storyline is slower and the jokes were fewer than other ones.

Weathering With You

On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, I went to see the movie Weathering with You. This movie is about a high school boy who runs away from home (we never found out where that is) to Tokyo and meets a girl, who has lost her mother, who has the ability to control the weather.

This movie is directed by Makoto Shinkai, who did he movie in 2016 called Your Name. He's trying to push Japanese anime in another direction that is not Studio Ghibli.

I really enjoyed this movie. The animation was fantastic and even though the story is not a super long one, it was very well developed.

Knives Out & The Gentlemen

Tonight, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, I went to see the movie The Gentlemen, featuring Matthew McConnaughey and a whole slew of other stars. The movie is a criminal thriller movie with dark humour thrown in.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, I went to see the movie Knives Out, featuring Daniel Craig and also a whole slew of other stars.

These two movies were similar, yet different. They are similar they are both dark, containing dark humour, and involved in crime. They are different because Knives Out is more of a thriller, whodunit piece, whereas The Gentlemen is more of a crime dark humour drama.

Both are worth being seen on the big screen.

Charlie's Angels

On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, I went to see the movie Charlie's Angels featuring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska, Elizabeth Banks, Patrick Stewart, Sam Claflin and Chris Pang.

The movie is about the first Bosley, Patrick Stewart, who is retiring after his many years of service. After his retirement though, the Angels learn about a clean energy device called Callisto. This device is going to revolutionize the energy industry. However, it has a fatal flaw.

What happens? You'll have to watch this to find out. I found this movie fun, exciting and had a plot twist I didn't see coming.

Hustlers

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, I went to see the movie Hustlers featuring Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Kiki Palmer, Lili Reinhardt, Lizzo and Cardi B.

This movie is based upon the story of former strip club employees who turn the tables on their Wall Street Clients.

At first, the movie moved quickly  But I felt that it dragged towards the end.  Though we never see any vagina, we do see a shot of a penis.  :-D

A fun movie, but it's not one I will be adding to my collection.
