Bizarre Mahjong experience

Today at mahjong club, there were a few eery coincidences.

We had a Dai Woo (someone who claimed the second tile to win - by self pick) and also a Gates of Heaven (111 2345678 999). The beauty of the second one is any tile in the suit (1 - 9) will make your hand a winner.

I've played mahjong for fifteen years and it has never happened... This is not normal, I don't think.
