Whitney Houston, dead at 48

I heard about the news about Whitney Houston, a very talented singer, being dead at 48 years of age.  That's truly a very sad affair indeed.

Although Whitney was not my favourite diva or singer, I do have a bit of her stuff on CD and I always appreciated her songs.  In fact, one of her songs is a great pick-me-up when I am going through difficulties romance wise:  It's Not Right, but it's Okay.  I don't know how many times that song has picked me up when I am going through rough patches romantically.  I also enjoy the duet that she did with Enrique Iglesias:  Could I Have This Kiss Forever.

Of course, some of her earlier stuff was excellent as well.  I remember when I was in elementary school, I sang The Greatest Love of All.  After hearing that song on the radio this morning, I just felt I had to make this post.

Sure, Whitney had her demons.  We are not perfect.  However, 48 years old is indeed way to young to leave us.   I am quite saddened by this and I will miss Whitney on the music scene, even though she was having difficulty hitting the notes that she used to be able to hit.

My condolences go out to her family and Whitney, we will always love you!
