Me Before You
On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, I went to see the movie Me Before You, featuring Emillia Clarke and Sam Claflin.
This movie is about Lou (Louisa) Clark, who was laid off from her job at a cafe in the town that she lives in after working there for six years. She is looking for a new job when she stumbles across a caretaker position with a rich family (who lives in a castle). There, she meets Will Traynor. Will is paralyzed from the waist down because he was hit by someone on a motorcycle and is in much pain, has health issues the whole nine yards. At first, Will is very cold to Lou, but as time progresses, he warms up to her. However, as the story unfolds, we learn that Will had made a decision to end his life/suffering in Switzerland in six months time... So, Lou has taken it upon herself to try to persuade Will to change his mind... And in the process, she falls in love with him.
What happens? You'll have to watch the movie to find out.
I felt that this movie was very well done, because even though I didn't cry (and it was indeed a sad story), there were girls who sat beside me and I could hear the sniffles... I could also hear the sniffles coming from practically all over the theatre.
This movie has also gotten me interested in reading the book... And there's a second book called Me After You, and I have no idea what that story is about.
