A Sad sight...

I wanted to get an early night sleep tonight, because I have an interview with Quizno's Subs tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. (EST). However, a friend from Toronto called me, and we went to Old Montreal to have a beverage. (He had a coke, I had an iced tea). I got home, and I felt a bit hungry. Originally, I wanted to get an appetizer in the restaurant/resto-bar in Old Montreal, but their kitchen was closed. So, I decided that I would take the night bus home, and get a BBQ Rib sub (six inch), since it was still Monday. However, they didn't have any (they ran out of rib patty), so I went to Angela's and got a small poutine with sausage. And it was there where I witnessed this sad sight.

There was a guy there who begged people for change. He walked up to the counter, and counted all the quarters, dimes, nickels etc., and I thought: "Oh, poor guy... He's short for food." I thought about covering what he was short to the owner, so he would get his food. But to my surprise, what did he get? A bottle of 10% beer. My sympathy went out the window right away. I can completely sympathize if he was short for a frites sauce (fries with gravy), because he wants to get calories into his system, but alcohol?

Well, it turns out that my money did go and help him with what he was short with, since my poutine that I got didn't have any sausage in it, when I had ordered one with sausage... That's a $1 difference. It went to cover his drinking.
