Cat-sitting, Day 4
Thursday, October 11, 2007 was my fourth day of cat-sitting.
Nothing really special today... The other cat still hisses at me, but I just ignore her now, and she seems to like that, so it works for me. I don't have to go and pick her up, etc... She'll just have to hack out a furball at the end of the week, and I hope I don't have to clean it up. I doubt it though, after all, it's probably Murphy's law.
The other cat, the Siamese cat, is her usual self... She jumped into the recycling box today and sat in there for a while... I don't know why, I think she was interested in the chocolate soy milk, even though chocolate is really bad for dogs and cats. I rinsed the box very clean, and I just double-rinsed it now to be sure. It should be okay.
I'm getting better at the eye-cleaning and the brushing of the one cat... The other, well, I can't brush her... She just sits in the chair, or somewhere, and if I approach, she growls at me... I was talking about the subject of difficult cats today in my French conversation group, and someone told me that cats apparently view themselves as the owners of the house, so if a stranger tries to approach them (i.e. me, to try and take care of them), then they find it too aggressive, and they hiss. But, if I just ignore them, apparently, it's fine, and they will eventually come around, and they will eventually learn to cope with me, and even maybe let me brush them. Though, this takes about a week, and by the end of the week, I'm going to be home-home.
