Well... I guess this is a good sign...
Today, one of my students asked me what my first name was... The reason why he wanted to know was because he wanted to put me on Facebook.
I've been told by my brother that if your students want to put you on Facebook, it means that you're a good teacher. I guess I'm a good teacher then.

Kind of reluctant to burst your bubble, but... there's a difference between being a good teacher and being a teacher that students like. You can be both, but being one doesn't guarantee that you're the other as well.
I have formers students on my FB list, but I know I was far from being a "good teacher" that first year. The students liked me, which is great, but I know I need(ed) loads of work to become a "good teacher".
Oh, I kind of know that you can be a horrible teacher, but be liked by students... I have the experience of being let go remember? I was a good teacher, but I was not one that the students liked, and the admin got rid of me... Now, I think I'm both... I had a student say to me (not the one that wanted to put me on Facebook), "Sir, your notes are very good! I was doing examples last night and I was reviewing myself, and they were very very helpful."
So did you put him on Facebook?
