I guess some things never change...

This evening, *Raoul wanted to get together and treat me to a birthday dinner. He did actually recall my birthday that happened about two weeks ago and called me to wish me a Happy birthday, which was very nice of him.

Thinking that *Rupert was in university, he would be back on the train this evening, Raoul and I could have a nice dinner to catch up. However, I was mistaken. It turns out that this dinner to celebrate my birthday also had Rupert in it...

I had a nice meal, not too elaborate. We went to Scores. However, I had to listen to a lot of stuff... Stuff that I didn't need to listen to, stuff that I was so happy I wouldn't have to listen to and/or deal with since Raoul no longer lived beside me...

Rupert got a new computer for his studies. He got it just before he started university. Today, he already had to take it (along with my friend Raoul) to the computer store to get it fixed... How do you manage to break a brand new computer so soon after it has been used?

I also found out that Rupert is going to be flying to BC during his reading week in February 2010. He's getting a free plane ticket (Raoul's work is paying for it - nice to know where my tax dollars go) and Raoul is going to use his own Air Miles to upgrade the ticket (both ways - to and from) to first class!!!!!

Oh yeah, the train ticket (return) that Rupert took to get into Montreal for this weekend? Paid for by Raoul...

As well, I found out that Raoul is pitching in for Rupert's tuition. Amazing. How can Rupert continue to treat Raoul like crap when Raoul does so much for him? It really boggles my mind.

It boggles my mind when people cling on to an unequal and unhealthy relationship. I guess people like to hope that the other will change or something.

So how's life these days?
