National Treasure: Book of Secrets

On Tuesday, February 12, 2008, I went to see the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets, featuring Nicholas Cage. There were a bunch of other well known actors as well, like Helen Mirren. I thought that she played again Queen Elizabeth, but it turns out that she just played the mother to Benjamin Franklin Bell (Nicholas Cage's character).

This movie was bad, but not as terrible as the experts said. Lots of explosions, lots of action and "adventure". But huge holes in the storyline. For example, how can no one in the story suspect that a duplicate copy of Ben's phone was made by another treasure hunter? Ben's father was mugged, but "nothing was taken from the house". Hmm... I don't know, if I nothing was taken from the house, I wouldn't be mugged for no reason? Well, the other logical reason must be: "Yeah, someone must have taken a duplicate copy of my phone, or bugged it or something..."

And then towards the end of the movie, the bad guy becomes a hero? What the hell? What type of crap story writing is this?
