Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
On Tuesday, June 16, 2009 I went to see the film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past featuring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Gardner and Michael Douglas.
The tale is a modern take on Dicken's A Christmas Carol, but about McConaughey's character, Connor Mead, who's a well known photographer and a womanizer.
I actually thought that this movie was cute. It probably is not the best piece of cinema out there, but it was cute, heart warming and at times, made me tear up. I suppose it's hard to stomach/watch something like this when you're not in a relationship yourself, and you always get the rotten end of the stick (being dumped, being told you're "not good enough" etc.)
McConaughey spoke with an accent. I do not know if he did it for the film or if he has an accent naturally. I am usually not a fan, so I wouldn't know.
Perhaps not one that needs to be seen on the big screen, but a nice movie night rental, especially if you are doing a "girl's night" movie night. Also a good movie for a "broken hearts" movie night. In that case, bring lots of popcorn to throw at the screen.
