The Ugly Truth

On Tuesday, September 29, 2009 I went to see the movie The Ugly Truth featuring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler.

Heigl (Abby Richter) plays a producer who is trying to save a floundering show, her own... Her boss finds this foul mouthed, misogynistic guy expert on men, named Mike Chadway (played by Gerard Butler) who turns out to be the exact opposite of what she wants in a show partner. This guy is so different in many of her values that she really has a terrible time with him.

This is until she meets her new hunky next door neighbour. She really wants to land him as the boyfriend, so Abby makes a deal with Mike. The deal is that if Abby lands the guy, then she has to work with Mike on the show. If she doesn't land the guy, then Mike will quit the show.

This movie is a romantic comedy, yes, but a very different one. It was highly enjoyable. I highly recommend it. If you prefer to see it at home as a rental, by all means, but it is a must see.
