The Adjustment Bureau

On Tuesday, April 26, 2011, I went to see the movie The Adjustment Bureau featuring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.

The movie starts off with Matt Damon's character, David Norris, who is being hailed as the youngest candidate ever to win a Senator. It shows him on the campaign trail appealing to the masses and the working class. However, scandals of him getting into a bar fight with someone on his election night as well as him mooning his colleagues as an old college prank. He goes into the bathroom to practice his concession speech, because he is quickly plummeting in the polls.

That is where he meets Emily Blunt's character, Elise Sellers. She is hiding in the bathroom where David Norris was practising his speech and she didn't want to interrupt him or make it known that she was there. They meet briefly and connect.

David Norris gets inspired by Elise and gives one hell of a concession speech, that he didn't stick to the original speech, which gives him a bit of an edge for the next time he was to run for Senator.

Eleven months later, he is taking a bus and meets Elise again. The attraction is there again. However, he was supposed to not have gotten on the bus and have met her again, because he was supposed to have an accident involving coffee by 7:05 a.m.. This didn't happen because the guy that was in charge of causing the accident fell asleep.

This causes David Norris to walk into the office and eventually walking into a board room where everyone is frozen and The Adjustment Bureau are doing their thing.

What happens after? You'll have to watch the movie to find out.

This was a very fast paced film that caught my attention. I really enjoyed it. I also liked all the intricacies of the film.
