It's been a long time since that has happened...

Today, while I was taking the TTC (yes, I am in Toronto, and thus I was taking a bus in Toronto) to get to my dentist's appointment, something happened to me that hasn't happened to me in a long time. Let me explain.

When I got off the bus, I was friendly and greeted the driver and stated, "Thank you, have a good day."

I believe the response I got was, "You too, ma'am". However, I didn't quite hear the end, because ma'am and man sounds pretty similar, especially on a bus at a busy intersection.

If it is the latter, as the driver is trying to be young and hip, then no, I was not mistaken as a woman. However, if it's the former... That hasn't happened to me since Grade eight. (Well, that's the last incident I recall). That was during my puberty years.

Last time I checked, I looked pretty much like a man, and people don't really have difficulty telling. I guess now that I have a pretty short haircut, I look like an andrygenous butch lesbian? I don't know. Anyway, it's an interesting experience. A weird experience before I had to fork out about $170 for dental work, only half of which I will be getting back... * grumbles *
