Everybody's Fine
On Tuesday, December 15, 2009, I went to see the movie Everybody's Fine, featuring Robert de Niro, Kate Beckinsale and Drew Berrymore.
The movie is about a widower who planned a family get together for his four children, who all hold very respectable jobs... They all cancel on him... So, he decides to surprise them with a visit.
He starts off with his first child, David, in New York. David is an artist. However, when Frank (de Niro's character) arrives, David is not home. Spends an evening outside and eventually gets let into the building. However, David is clearly not home.
He decides to visit his second child, Amy. Amy is a boss of sorts in her own advertising company. However, when Frank visits, he clearly sees that something is not quite right with Amy and her husband.
Amy sends him off to see his second son, Robert. Robert is a conductor/musician/percussionist in an orchestra. We also discover at this point that David is apparently in some sort of trouble. We also see that the children don't tell Frank the entire truth.
Eventually, he makes his way to his final daughter, Amy. Amy's a dancer in Las Vegas. We also meet one of Amy's "friends" and her baby. Again, we see that Amy doesn't tell her feather everything.
They all promise that they would be home for Christmas... And Frank figures things out.
A heartwarming family drama where at times it's very sad. I weren't already so run down at work with all the emotional turmoil, I actually might have cried at this movie.
