The Dressmaker

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, I went to see the movie The Dressmaker, featuring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Hugo Weaving, Sarah Snook and Judy Davis.

The movie is about Myrtle 'Tilly" Dunnage, who returns to her home town in rural Australia after many years...  She's come back to right wrongs and for revenge.

We learn through the movie that Tilly was accused of being a murderer when she was really young and as a result, was sent away to another part of the country...

So, she comes back, armed with a set of new skills.  She's a streamstress and designs dresses.  She has done work/studied in London and Paris, where she has learned the fashion and styles "of the trade".  She uses her skill to try and exact her revenge on people who have caused her and her mother lots of pain.  However, she doesn't foresee a gentleman caller, with whom she falls in love.

What happens in the movie?  You'll have to watch it to find out.  Once again, Kate Winslet was fantastic in this movie.
